Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

Eco holidays friendly Thailand is a fully registered eco travel operator. The company is run by young individuals, which care deeply about Thailand's nature and wildlife. By organizing tours all around the country, they hope to increase awareness of the importance of Thailand's natural resources.

The staff at Eco Holidays Friendly all have relevant university degrees and several years of experience in international or travel companies. All guides have a Tourist Guide Licence from the Tourist Authority Thailand and have been educated about the area they are guiding tours in. They only use local tour guides and local companies for transportation or other services.In the national parks, they work together with local rangers and guides. All transportation is either by minivan or local bus. All accommodation are located in local villages, campsites or hotels, which are mostly owned by Thai people, increasing the economic benefits to the areas visited.

Goals of Eco Holidays Friendly include:

• Preserve the existing environment and natural resources

• Reduce the negative environmental impacts of tourism

• Increase awareness of Thailand’s environmental issues by educating the international volunteer/tourist

• Provide an alternative occupation for locals that puts a value on the environment and wildlife while raising their standard of living.
