Elephant Nursing in Chiang Mai

Day 1: Bangkok - Chiang Mai
You will be collected from your hotel in Bangkok at 6:00pm, from where you will be taken to the bus station for the overnight bus to Chiang Mai.

Day 2: Chiang Mai - Village
You will arrive in Chiang Mai in the morning. After breakfast, you will be taken to the Karen hill tribe village. Here we will explain a little more about the program. You will be shown to your home-stay accommodation and around the village. Then you will be Elephant feeding and introduced to elephant biology and the elephant health care you will be working with for the rest of the program.  In the early evening, you will accompany your mahout as he takes your elephant to the forest where she will spend the night. We will then cook together at the camp and learn about Thai cooking techniques.

Day 3: Village
You will head out to collect your elephant and head over for her health check up.This includes feeding, bathing and elephant herbal medicine.

Day 4: Village - Chiang Mai

You will wake up early and accompany your mahout to the forest to bring your elephant back to the camp. After breakfast you will continue to take care of your elephant. This includes feeding, bathing and cleaning your elephant on the last day. You will be given time to say goodbye to your elephant and the village before we travel to visit some nearby Hot Springs.  At the end of the day, we will make our return journey via Chiang Mai to Bangkok by overnight bus.

Day 5: Bangkok
You will arrive in Bangkok in the early morning and are free to travel to onward destinations.  Accommodation or onward transportation can be provided.

For cancellations 31 days or more before check in, a full refund shall be issued. For cancellations 30 days or less before check in, no refund can be issued.
