Getting there

Getting to Cha Am is relatively easy, with many transport options. Cha Am is located 200 km South of Bangkok in a very narrow part of Thailand. The main highway from Bangkok is just 4 km from town, and the railway line runs through the northern part of town.

Bus
Buses from Bangkok run from Sai Tai Bus Station (the southern bus station) in Thonburi, leaving every hour, from 5.00am until 10.00pm.The trip takes between 3 to 4 hours and terminates at the bus station 100 metres from the beach ( only the buses marked Cha am stop here) and cost about 140 Baht.

Minibus from Bangkok
Minibuses leave from Victory Monument in the centre of Bangkok, to Cha Am and Hua Hin. Take the BTS Skytrain to Victory Monument, look for the Century shopping centre before leaving the BTS station, and the minibuses are just down the stairs on the left of the shopping centre.

It should cost to you about 180 Baht and takes only 2 and a half hours, dropping you off at the top of Narathip road (the main road down to the beach). Minibuses run from 06.00 until 19.00 and depart every 30 minutes or earlier when full.

Taxi
A taxi from Bangkok is the quickest and easiest way of getting to Cha Am. The trip should take about 2 and a half hours and costs between 2000 - 2500 Baht on the meter.

Fly
You can fly from Bangkok international airport (Suvarnabhumi) to Hua Hin airport, 6 km outside Hua Hin and 18 km south of Cha Am. The flight should take 50 minutes and costs 3,100 Baht. There are currently 3 flights a day to Hua Hin at 10.45am, 2.15pm, and 5.15pm. You then must take a taxi to Cha Am.

Train
Two trains leave every day for Cha Am from Bangkok's Hua Lampong Station, leaving at 9:20am and 3.35pm, the journey should take about three and a half hours. Also three trains leave from Thonburi train station in Bangkok, at 7.25am, 1.05pm, and 7.15pm. There are scheduled to arrive in Cha Am at 11.16am, 5.20pm, and 10.09pm respectively.
